Cherry vine tomatoes
Natural, biological agents such as parasitic wasps and flies are used to combat pests and diseases. In this way we create a biological balance in the growing environment.
The Dutch cherry vine tomatoes with the Eat&Care® label are juicy and tasty, and have glossy, bright red skins. The fruit is firm and has a perfect skin, the vine is bright green. You can tell when the cherry vine tomatoes are ripe because a tomato will give a little when you squeeze it gently.
Cherry vine tomatoes are only harvested when the bottom tomato is ripe, so you can be certain of eating fully ripened tomatoes; exactly what you need for good flavour. The Eat&Care® cherry vine tomatoes retain their flavour and firmness best if they are kept at temperatures between 12 and 15°C.
The Dutch cherry vine tomatoes from Staay Food Group are grown by our partner Van Rens under sustainable conditions. Natural, biological agents such as parasitic wasps and flies are used to combat pests and diseases. In this way we create a biological balance in the growing environment.
The cultivation process in the greenhouse is also designed to be sustainable. Rainwater is harvested and stored in a 20 million litre reservoir, and subsequently used to water the tomato plants. A combined heat and power installation provides electricity and helps to save energy. The heat released in this process is not lost, but is used for heating the greenhouse.
